My Story

I attended Widener University and received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2020. During my training, I worked in many different settings, including an inpatient drug and alcohol rehab, a middle school, and a practice assessing brain-injured patients.

Today I help ambitious people live lives they enjoy. I am an action-oriented therapist and coach. Since people come to me when they are suffering, I help them make changes quickly.

Suffering occurs when we get stuck, so I give my clients tools to get unstuck. They try new stuff, change their mindset, and get what they desire.

When we treat ourselves unkindly, we stop growing. So I prioritize compassion. Whether towards yourself or others, compassion is the key to living well. Too many people stay miserable because they treat themselves carelessly.

In short, I help people make friends with their minds.

Every individual has the wisdom to heal themselves and the courage to face life's challenges. As a therapist and coach, it is my job to help you connect with these innate abilities and take the next step forward.

Testimonials

I had gone through therapy before seeing Josh, so coming to him I had a preconceived notion of how our sessions would go. I figured we would talk through any issues that came up and work through past problems. However, I did not foresee walking out of therapy with a clarity and understanding of myself that I had not been able to find before. With genuine care and professionalism, Josh provided the tools on how to look at myself in a different light. He allowed me to be myself while also pushing me to look inward at the difficult areas I had been avoiding for so long. Whether it be offering a listening ear, providing advice, or recommending tools and books to explore, Josh created a space that felt comfortable and safe. I am so grateful for our time spent together and everything I learned along the wayI truly am so grateful for our time together and everything you have helped me through. I have seen immense growth in myself and I have you to thank!

During a tumultuous season of life, Dr. Schultz created a safe space for me to process life events and learn more about myself. I really appreciated his genuine care and our honest conversations about the best way he could support me, which I believe is a testament to the trust he builds with clients and the space he creates for candid dialogue. He always remained open to feedback and adjusted based on client needs. He has a remarkable ability to connect dots between sessions to help illuminate patterns that otherwise went undetected. I am immensely grateful for our work together as it was instrumental in my journey to heal and grow.
